HOUSEHOLD CHEMICALS, CHLORINE AND SALT WATER Everyday, our jewelry is exposed to various chemicals (lotions, perfume, shaving cream, soap, detergents, etc.) which leave a residue that is difficult to remove. To prevent this buildup, simply make it a habit to remove your jewelry when cleaning, grooming and bathing. Due to the damaging elements contained in chlorine and salt, it is also recommended that you remove jewelry before bathing or swimming.
JEWELRY STORAGE When storing your jewelry, it is best to place each piece flat and separate from other jewelry pieces to avoid scratch marks as well as entanglement.
JEWELRY CLEANING An excellent way to keep your jewelry lustrous and shiny is to gently wipe your jewelry after wearing with a soft jewelry or natural chamois cloth. When cleaning your jewelry, use only commercial jewelry cleaners that are safe for fine karat gold jewelry or a mixture of warm water and detergent-free soap with a soft bristle toothbrush. Be careful to always dry your jewelry with a soft 100% cotton cloth or towel and avoid using materials that may create scratch marks.
JEWELRY POLISHING Although gold will never rust or tarnish, it is inevitable due to daily wear that your gold jewelry will become scratched. Most reputable local jewelers are equipped to safely polish and remove many surface scratches and restore your jewelry's original luster. |
